MENA2050 is proud to announce that Ariel Ezrahi, Head of the Energy Transition Committee, represented the organization at the Innovation Zero: Energy Transition & Net Zero Congress 2026, held in London on 28–29 May.

As part of this leading global platform dedicated to accelerating the transition to a low-carbon economy, Ariel participated in the high-level session titled “Global Lessons: International Pathways to Energy System Transformation.” The session brought together international experts to examine how nations across the world are rewriting the rules of their energy systems.

Discussions focused on the ongoing transformation of energy systems—from market design and grid reform to digitalisation and decentralised generation. Speakers highlighted how leading countries are aligning regulation, digital infrastructure, and investment to enable the rapid deployment of clean power.

A central theme was the need to balance resilience, flexibility, and affordability for both consumers and industry. The session explored emerging global approaches that ensure energy transitions remain not only sustainable but also economically viable and socially inclusive.

Participants also emphasized the importance of international collaboration, particularly in advancing data sharing, common standards, and innovation. Strengthening these areas is key to accelerating progress toward a more connected and decarbonised global energy future.

In this context, Ariel Ezrahi also emphasized the strategic importance of the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) as a key enabler of regional and interregional energy connectivity. He highlighted how initiatives such as IMEC can play a critical role in fostering integrated energy systems, enhancing cross-border cooperation, and supporting the development of resilient, sustainable infrastructure across the MENA region and beyond. This aligns closely with MENA2050’s ongoing work and advocacy to advance IMEC as a platform for accelerating and strengthening regional collaboration.

Through Ariel Ezrahi’s participation, MENA2050 continues to engage in critical global conversations on energy transition—bringing forward perspectives from the MENA region while contributing to transformative initiatives such as IMEC and learning from international best practices and innovations.
