About
Dr. Amina Alhajri is Director General of Cultural, Social and Family Affairs at the General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Jeddah. With more than 27 years of experience spanning academia, public administration, and international diplomacy, she is a senior leader in policy development, strategic planning, and multilateral cooperation across the Arab, African, and Asian regions.
Prior to her current role, Dr. Alhajri served as Deputy Director General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) in Rabat, where she supervised programs in education, science, culture, and communication and oversaw regional offices and partnerships with member states. She previously directed the Scientific Research Center at the Ministry of Higher Education in Oman, leading national research policy and capacity development initiatives.
Dr. Alhajri began her career in academia and educational research, holding positions as Assistant Professor and Statistical Analyst. She holds a PhD in Educational Statistics from Plymouth University, a Master’s degree in Measurement and Evaluation from Yarmouk University, and a BA from Ain Shams University. She is widely recognized for her work on women’s empowerment, youth development, education policy, and international institutional cooperation.
