Rim Baji is a Moroccan development strategist and regional advocate specializing in gender equality, climate resilience, and sustainable development across the MENA region and sub-Saharan Africa. With over 15 years of experience at the intersection of policy, partnerships, and community empowerment, she has shaped programs and strategies across some of the region's most pressing challenges, from green economy transitions and food security to cultural heritage preservation and women's economic inclusion.
A veteran of the UN system, Rim has contributed to programs at UNESCO, UNIDO, and UNDP, designing gender action plans, mobilizing multi-stakeholder partnerships, and leading resource mobilization efforts with governments, corporations, and international foundations. She has represented her work on global platforms, including UNCCD COP16 in Riyadh.
At the heart of Rim's work is a deep commitment to youth empowerment. The MENA region is one of the youngest in the world, and it is its greatest asset , its people, holds the key to overcoming its greatest challenges. Climate change, economic exclusion, and regional fragmentation are not insurmountable: they are problems that a connected, empowered generation can solve through collaboration, innovation, and shared purpose.
Fluent in Arabic, French, English, and Spanish, and deeply networked across the Maghreb, the Gulf, and Francophone and Hispanophone development circles, Rim brings both regional fluency and an unwavering belief in the region's potential to shape its own future.
