During a visit to Rome, MENA2050 CEO Eli Bar-On and Roger Bertozzi, Head of the MENA2050 IMEC Task Force, met with Ambassador Francesco M. Talò, Italy’s Special Envoy for IMEC, and Ambassador Carmelo Barbarello, IMEC Inter-Ministerial Coordinator, at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

The meeting focused on the India–Middle East–Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC), its current progress, Italy’s role in advancing the initiative, and the opportunities it could create for stronger connectivity between Europe, the Middle East, and India.

The discussion also explored opportunities for MENA2050 and its IMEC Task Force to engage with the Italian government and other Italian stakeholders, with particular attention to deepening cooperation and bringing greater focus to aspects of IMEC that have so far received less attention.
